These colonies establish quickly in spring and typically expand far faster than weaker or newly created colonies, giving beekeepers a strong start to the season. Each nuc is supplied on British Standard 14×12 National frames, making them ideal for beekeepers operating 14×12 National hives.

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE WITH YOUR 14X12 BUCKFAST NUC

Each nuc will contain:

• Six 14×12 frames fully covered with bees
• A minimum of three frames of brood in all stages
• At least one full frame of food stores
• A strong, healthy population of bees
• A marked, mated and actively laying Buckfast queen

Each nuc is supplied in a suitable transport box, providing safe and secure transport to your apiary.

14X12 BUCKFAST NUC COLONY DEVELOPMENT

Buckfast bees are renowned for:

• Excellent temperament
• Strong spring build-up
• Good productivity
• Efficient use of available forage

As temperatures increase, colonies expand rapidly and can take full advantage of early nectar flows. Under favourable conditions, colonies may reach production strength earlier in the season, helping maximise honey yields during the main honey flow.

As with all livestock, colony performance depends on weather conditions, forage availability and management practices. Regular inspections and good husbandry remain essential.

14X12 BUCKFAST NUC HEALTH AND STANDARDS

Every 14×12 Buckfast nuc is produced on fresh foundation and monitored throughout the season to ensure quality and colony health.

Before collection or dispatch, each nuc is checked to confirm:

• The queen is laying consistently
• The brood pattern is even and healthy
• No visible signs of disease are present
• Varroa levels are monitored and managed appropriately

We operate in accordance with recognised National Bee Unit (NBU) guidance and maintain strict biosecurity standards to ensure healthy, reliable stock year after year.

OPTION 1 – FULL PAYMENT

£300.00

Includes collection from Portsmouth or UK mainland delivery.

OPTION 2 – DEPOSIT

£60.00 non-refundable booking fee

Balance of £240.00 payable before collection or dispatch.

The booking fee is strictly non-refundable as it secures your allocation and allows us to plan colony numbers and stock for the 2027 season.

COLLECTION OR DELIVERY

Collection will take place from Portsmouth during Spring 2027, or colonies can be delivered throughout mainland UK.

As colonies become ready, customers will be contacted to arrange a suitable collection or delivery date and provided with full details.
