Honeybee Swarm Or Nest In A Building
A honeybee swarm is a cluster of bees hanging together, often on a branch, fence or part of a building, while they look for a new place to settle. A nest in a building is different: the colony has already moved into a cavity — a wall, chimney, soffit or similar — and built honeycomb inside.
Both are honey bee removal jobs for us, but the work on site is not the same. A swarm can often be collected as a cluster. A nest in a structure means working carefully around the comb and moving the bees live into a hive box. The photo shows a hanging honeybee swarm during a live removal.
If bees are flying in and out of a gap in brickwork, or you can see comb behind a wall or roof void, treat that as a nest in a building and call us before anyone opens the cavity up. To talk through what you have found, please fill in our form above or get in touch.
