6 Frame National Nuc – 2026 Buckfast Queen

Our 6 frame National nucs are headed by marked 2026 Buckfast queens from carefully selected performance breeding lines. We choose these queens for their calm temperament, strong brood patterns and reliable performance in UK conditions.

Each nuc is supplied as a healthy, well-balanced colony on standard National frames. Every nuc contains four fully drawn and established frames with brood and stores, plus two National foundation frames to allow continued expansion. At the time of collection, the colony will show brood at all stages and hold adequate food reserves.

All nucs are established in a 6 frame correx National nuc box to ensure safe transport and straightforward transfer into your full-size National hive.

Buckfast bees build steadily through spring and respond well to good management. With favourable weather and strong forage, these nucs can develop into productive colonies with excellent honey potential during the main season.

Before release, every nuc is carefully inspected to confirm it meets our health and quality standards. We follow strict UK biosecurity guidelines throughout the season to maintain strong, consistent stock.

We supply 6 frame National nucs headed by marked 2026 Buckfast queens. Our queens are selected from carefully managed breeding lines chosen for their calm temperament, strong brood patterns and reliable performance in UK conditions.

As a result, these nucs build steadily and respond well to good management. With proper care, they can develop into strong full hives during the season.

During spring, we carefully build and monitor each nuc. Once it reaches the correct strength and balance, we release it for collection. We supply every nuc in a 6 frame correx National nuc box and establish it on standard National frames. Therefore, you can transfer it directly into your full-size National hive without difficulty.

Strong Build-Up & Honey Potential

Many beekeepers choose Buckfast bees because they are calm, productive and predictable.

In particular, they are:

  • Calm and easy to handle

  • Consistent in brood pattern

  • Quick to build in spring

  • Good honey producers

In early summer, most nucs grow at a steady pace. If forage conditions remain favourable and you manage the colony correctly, it can become highly productive for the main honey flow.

However, weather patterns and local forage availability will always influence final results.

Collection & Payment

Collection Only – June 2026
Price: £280.00

To reserve your nuc, you can either:

  • Pay £280.00 in full, or

  • Pay a £60.00 non-refundable booking fee and pay the remaining £220.00 before collection

If you cancel before we allocate all nucs, we will refund your booking fee. However, once we allocate a nuc to you, the booking fee becomes non-refundable.

Please provide accurate contact details when ordering. We will contact you to arrange collection. If we cannot reach you, we may cancel the order and retain the booking fee.

Health & Standards

We produce all nucs in line with UK law and recognised beekeeping standards. In addition, we follow strict biosecurity procedures throughout the season.

Before release, we inspect every nuc to confirm that it meets our health and quality standards. This approach helps us maintain strong, consistent stock year after year.
